When I share a Dropbox link to a folder with photographs, the web link is not optimized for photo viewing on any platform (phone or desktop). The thumbnails are too small and compressed. And on a phone's web browser, users can swipe through individual photos, but it requires two separate taps, thereby quickly becoming cumbersome. I am suggesting the idea to have Dropbox photo folders appear as a dynamic, tiled gallery, much like on a dedicated iOS or Android app. Google Drive's photo gallery is a great example of how to implement such a feature on Dropbox.58Views0likes3CommentsUsers downloading a file from a dl=0&raw=1 shared link get a 0 bytes download
Question or issue I’m trying to share .pdf files with my clients by redirecting (302) them to shared link with dl=0&raw=1 query params in link to force browser open it in browser. By the way, almost every russian client get file download, but receiving 0 bytes, error to download and somehow file name is file.pdf in downloads, but in dropbox is other name, something like Привет.pdf. I’ve tested it by my own and there is no problems. It opens in android and ios in different browsers. Is it problem that they trying to download file in russia?33Views0likes1CommentThe install link on the Dropbox site sometimes redirects to the beta version of the desktop app
The virtual links to download dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/download https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86_64 sometimes (like once in 30 tries) redirect automatically to the latest BETA build instead of the latest STABLE build. No clue why, but watch these for a couple of minutes and you'll probably see build 238.3.5977 appear while true ; do curl -sI "https://www.dropbox.com/download" | grep '^location: https:' ; sleep 1.5 ; done or while true ; do curl -sI "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86_64" | grep '^location: https:' ; sleep 1.5 ; done43Views0likes5CommentsHow to view the full date in a directory listing on the site?
Device Web Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Firefox/Chrome MacOS Question or Issue How do I view full dates, not relative dates, when listing files and folders? So basically: <filename> <type> <2025-11-30 21:55> Not "one hour ago" nor "six months ago" Relative dates mean nothing to my use cases.29Views0likes2CommentsHelp with downloading my stuff from the website
Hi, I had a Dropbox subscription that didn’t suit my needs, and I eventually stopped using the service. I forgot about it until I received a notice that my files would be deleted because my account is over the free plan limit. That part is understandable. However, I’m having trouble downloading my materials. Some files are over 150 GB, and the app has been giving me issues. I managed to manually download some files through my browser, but now I’ve received an email saying that my traffic exceeded the 20 GB daily limit. Since my files are much larger than that, I’m stuck. What can I do? How can I contact someone at Dropbox to help me download my files so I can then delete my account? Thanks in advance.95Views0likes11CommentsHow to stop the upgrade notifications on my Dropbox online?
I've had the Dropbox Plus plan for over 10 years and have been more or less happy with the service. My account is about ⅓ full at any given time. Most of the time I use the desktop app (Mac OS 15.6.1, dropbox v.237.4.5655) which syncs my files across 3 devices and between several apps. I don't sync all files to the desktop obviously, so sometimes I have to log in to the web version to see all files. Dropbox bombards me with requests to upgrade to business level and work with "my team". not just once or twice, but EVERY TIME I log in. That and the giant green button at the top a different color from everything else on the page constantly begging me to upgrade... aaaarrrrrghhhhh. Is the desktop site intended to drive away non-corporate customers? I've done lots of projects with other people and the whole point of using Dropbox was the ease of passing files between all our different freelance accounts. It's out-of-proportion annoying. I have scoured all the notification and account settings and found nothing. Please how can I stop it? thanks!38Views0likes1Comment
