I'm encountering what appears to be a Dropbox web client bug. While playing an mp3, when move the playhead (i.e,. choose somewhere other than the beginning of the audio), I hear two parts of the song playing simultaneously. Steps to reproduce: Log into dropbox.com (NOTE: I'm using Mac OS 14.4.1 (23E224), and am accessing Dropbox via Chrome browser.) Open an mp3 file (e.g., https://www.dropbox.com/home/music/example.mp3) Invoke "Play" by pressing the space bar Observe that it plays normally Invoke "Pause" bypressing the space bar Click somewhere in the middle of the song Invoke "Play" by pressing the space bar BUG: Observe that you hear two parts of the song playing simultaneously; as if there are two music players, one playing the beginning of the song, and one playing what you chose for "somewhere in the middle of the song" (ostensibly, there are two audio buffers that play simultaneously. ) Invoke "Pause" byclicking on the "Pause" button with the mouse BUG: Observe that one buffer stopped playing, but the other continues (despite the "Pause" button now changing to a "Play" button, which should imply it is paused). Some thoughts: This is essentially 100% reproducible for me, and happens with every mp3 every time. It seems like a Dropbox bug because (1) it does not not occur, for example, on other music websites, and (2) it seems to matter whether I press the space bar versus click with the mouse to play/pause. Clicking the back button and going back into the song does not appear to be enough to workaround this. I'm only able to work around it by going to adifferent song, which seems to get the buffers reset until I mess with the playhead again. I've only tried mp3 files, so I've been saying "mp3", but I have no reason to believe the issue is specific to mp3 files.22Views0likes3CommentsCan I download my files from the website directly to my external hard drive?
I'd like to copy ALL of the files I have on dropbox to an external hard drive. Is there an easier way to do that? I don't currently have all my files synced to my computer (in fact the majority are not synced, as there's limited space). I don't want to replace Dropbox, just want to make a duplicate of all files to a hard drive for extra safety. Please let me know if there's a way I can transfer directly from the website to the hard drive. Thanks!28Views0likes1CommentDropbox comments box scroll arrows disappeared.
Hi there, This morning when loading a document I've been working on, the scrolling arrows in the comments box are not showing. Upon loading, they appear squashed in the top right hand corner of the comments box for a few seconds, and then vanish. Myself and a colleague are currently unable to scroll through the comments at all. They had been working fine up until today. I've loaded the file on three different browsers including Firefox - all have the same issue. Thanks, Justin.Solved162Views1like14CommentsTranscription box cant be seen

We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.5KViews7likes30CommentsCannot view starred photos on the website - Error 429
HELP!!! Starred Photos is not working on the DropBox web site and I really need help! I have literally YEARS of work in uploading all of my family's photos and STARRING the ones I want to use for Shutterfly or other projects. But this year, I see that I cannot get the STARRED photos to load for a YEAR (or even a MONTH) to download them accurately - the photos appear and then disappear from the website. My husband opened up the "Inspector view" and took screenshots that show that there are hundreds of 429 requests to /starred/get_status-- so it seems like the website is just broken. PLEASE HELP WE'VE SUBSCRIBED FOR YEARS! And I really need the starred photos from the past few years to make holiday gifts on Shutterfly!50Views1like4CommentsRemove "Login/SignUp" Dialog box from shared link download
Currently, when I send a client a link to download a file using the Dropbox share file functionality, they are directed to a preview page. When they click the Download button, they are presented with a dialog box prompting them to sign in or sign up for Dropbox. At the bottom of this dialog box, in text that more closely resembles a legal disclaimer, they are given the option to download without signing up. As a paid user, I cannot entertain this dark UI feature. If I need to provide clients with an instruction manual on how to work around a dark UI feature, then it makes me look really cheap and really hacky. Not only does it make me look bad, but it's also a really nasty look for the Dropbox brand.74Views2likes4CommentsCannot open downloaded Zip due to "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2)
I am trying to download photos from my photographer's Dropbox account to my external hard drive. When I try to open the Zip (which shows size 7.53GB), I receive this error: "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2 - No such file or directory.)" I see that many other people have this issue. How can it be resolved?5.1KViews0likes7CommentsCan't access dropbox website on laptop
Hi there, I'm unable to access dropbox.com on my laptop, which is connected to my home WiFi. I have tried various browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) to no avail. I don't have a problem accessing the website on my phone, which is also connected to my home network, so I reckon that rules out a network issue. The error I get on Chrome says: "This website can't be reached. www.dropbox.com refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_Refuses" I've searched the forum but none of the suggestions have helped. Hope someone can! Thanks.Solved4.5KViews0likes11CommentsImprove Photos.dropbox.com performance
I love that Dropbox is platform agnostic. I don't want to rely on Google or Microsoft. But Photos.dropbox.com needs serious improvement or I will not be renewing my subscription next year. Photos is the #1 thing I store in Dropbox. Even ignoring how many more features Google Photos has, just loading in the photo grid in dropbox feels slow and unresponsive. If you could make it so that I could load in Dropbox photos and quickly get to a photo I know I have from a year or two ago, I would be happy. Could you do more caching of lower quality thumbnails? Maybe that is why scrolling feels so unresponsive. The count and dates of photos are clearly not cached or precomputed, because when I load the page, it takes a minute for the date scrollbar to fully load all the months I have photos from. Even if you could just do this for Camera Roll, that would be amazing.170Views0likes3Comments
