114 Topics"File cannot be accessed by the system" error message on my Windows device.
I have a paid account from Dropbox Plus. When I attempt to access some files in Dropbox, I get the File Cannot be Accessed by the System error. This happens with all of my jpg and other photo files. I have been able to access all of these files in the past. It's only since I moved to Windows 11 that this has started. Any help is appreciatedSolved8.6KViews0likes8CommentsWhat does the brown box icon next to my Dropbox files mean on Windows?
I have searched the relevant help topics without finding an explanation on the "brown box" icon that appears on files in my Dropbox folder. See the attached file "Dropbox_Meaning of Icon_BrownBox.pdf" (below).2.4KViews0likes3CommentsI can't scroll through photos anymore on Windows?
I used to be able to: open my dropbox folder, click on a folder with pictures, double click a picture to have it appear full-size on my screen, then scroll through the rest of the pictures in that folder by hitting the cursor keys. Now, since the update, sometimes I can't scroll at all, or when I can, it will show pictures that have been moved to other folders, but not the current pictures that are in the current folder. This is a serious problem for me because I am constantly scrolling through new photos that we use for marketing. Wait a bit, then try again" when opening file on Windows
The subject line captures the error that I am receiving anytime I attempt to open a file stored by DropBox on my PC through the File Explorer. I have tried various media players, VLC, Windows Media Player Legacy, Windows 11 Media Player, 5k Video Player (which plays virtually any extension) - And these are all Mp4 videos, which are compatible with any and every of those players listed. The strange thing is that this error is intermittent, sometimes the videos load great, other times they provide this error. I have tried it with/without my VPN turned on thinking that perhaps it was an access issue with the VPN IP being active, I use a static IP address so it couldn't be from dynamic IP changing - I'm at a loss.875Views0likes1CommentWhat is the brown box icon on the left bottom corner of my files when using the desktop app?

Device ASUS ROG Strix G712LV-BS71-CB laptop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version/Browser Version 237.4.5655 Question or Issue I'm supporting a user that I installed Dropbox for and since I in stalled it the user can't access it's download folder. This is the message (pardon the French) that appears: Which basically says that the folder is not available. All downloads from the browser fails unless I redirect the default download location to somewhere else, like the desktop. When inspecting the properties of the folder, the link for the folder location is blank. It's been a reccuring problem for him and I can't find anyone online experiencing the same issue. I tried replicating it on my computer but can't seem to be able to. It's been happening for a couple of weeks now and the workaround I found was to restart the computer so because Dropbox didn't launch at startup, the download folder was available. Upon opening the Dropbox app, the download folder is not acessible until a restart. That was for the last couple of weeks, but now even a restart doesn't temporarily solve the issue. Steps taken: - Restarting the PC. - Reinstalling Dropbox - Making sure there is no backup settings targetting the user's document folder. - Changing Dropbox's location on the computer by putting it directly on a Folder in the C:\ drive, not in the user's document folder. I'm at a loss here. Does anyone know where the issue might come from?57Views0likes1CommentWhen opening a file in Windows 11, there is no other option than 'this time only'
Integration Affected office Device hp laptop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Question or Issue everytime I open a file i get asked to select which program to open it with even if I have a program that is already associated with that file type (.DOC to Office Word). What makes the situation unbearable is that the only option I can select is use this program "this time only" so everytime I need to go through this again.Solved94Views0likes7Comments
