Using 2-step verification, I've recently tried switching from receiving texts to using the mobile authenticator. However, the latter is not working. I'm getting 'invalid' code when i try to input the code generated. How is this possible? Is there no other way to use 2-step authenticator without having to resort to texts?Solved59KViews6likes78CommentsLogin error 500. ...anyone else?
Error (500) Something went wrong. Don't worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check out our Status Page to see if there is a known incident, our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home. I get the same issue if I click on home link, and help link. Status page says there are no problems. I also got a notification that my account has been downgraded and that I can no longer set files to be online only. anyone else having similar issues? I can login successfully, but needs me to check 6-digit code in email. Before immigration, login dropbox never needs me to check 6-digit code in email. After immigration, it needs me to check 6-digit code in email. (same computer) My email account was disabled (long time no use and I forgot the password), I can't login to my email to check the 6-digit code. I only want to login Dropbox without check email 6-digit code, so what can I do? ThanksSolved63KViews4likes429CommentsUnable to login S Mode
Able to login ok via web but when opening in S Mode app cannot login due to reCAPTCHA, you enter username/password fine, then reCAPTCHA comes up, complete that as required but then after clicking verify it goes blank then reopens reCAPTCHA as though clicking login again so unable to get past this step, any help would be hugely appreciated!Solved7KViews4likes44CommentsDropbox acquires Boxcryptor. What will happen to all those files that have been encrypted?
Hi As most will know, dropbox has purchased boxcryptor. At this point my question is, what will happen to all those files that have been encrypted with boxcryptor ? Should they all be decrypted and wait for communication on how the transaction will be handled by Dropbox ? Boxcryptor was used to encrypt files using other cloud services, will this change ? Thank you very much RiccardoSolved37KViews3likes148CommentsPhone number has changed/new phone. How to access my old Dropbox account?
I need to access my old account. Two-step verification appears to be on. Code was sent to my old phone number, which has changed. I now have a new phone and new number. (Old phone no longer works as the screen is shattered/doesn't power on) I don't recall having an emergency backup code on hand either. I need to get into my old account. My email address for my old account is <SNIP> I know the password. I NEED TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE BY PHONE OR EMAIL A/S/A/P. I NEED A LIVE PERSON PREFERABLY. (I had to create a new email address, Google account, etc. all because two-step verification was "on". Apparently most of my online activity was linked to my old number, which no longer exists. I find it super frustrating...) There are very important files on my original account that I need to retrieve/get back. I created this new account (that I'm using to type this) just so that I can file a complaint and hopefully get some answers/HELP! *Edit: I no longer have the SIM card to my previous phone, which was a Samsung Galaxy A10e ... Ugh! *@$!&#Solved46KViews3likes14Comments[security] Got a Dropbox security code email, but 2-factor verification is *off*. Reasons?
Hey I received the following email yesterday, sent to the email address used for registering my Dropbox account: Hi [first name] [6-digit code] is your one-time Dropbox security code. Happy Dropboxing! - The Dropbox Team However, 2-factor authorization is turned off for my account. I just checked it again, 2FA was, and still is, disabled. A cursory glance at the source suggests the email was sent by Dropbox. I know sender addresses can be spoofed, but the URL in the email was the real one, so I don't see a reason to believe it's a scam/phishing mail. My question is then: Are there any other cases (other than on accounts with 2FA enabled) when Dropbox would send a one-time security code by email?Solved20KViews3likes22Comments
