Is it possible to prevent long filenames being shortened from the end? My filenames need to have the whole name displayed, rather than having the end characters chopped off. These "end" characters identify the various versions of the same file. Many thanks, JohnF3.5KViews27likes13CommentsMobile app (iOS): Having the option to open unsupported file types as .txt
As there are more file extensions than Dropbox recognizes, I have previously suggested that Dropbox examines the file content for ascii. As no action has been taken on Dropbox side to resolve, I now suggest a simple pop-up window that allows the user to select preview type. As a user/programmer ( in many languages) , I know what my files are, as I have put them in my Dropbox. I am best suited to know how to preview. This would allow me to review/edit files on mobile devices without temporarily renaming to a .txt file extension.930Views0likes5CommentsSearching for files using their full file-path.
Dear team Searching for files (e.g. by name) on the iOS app is very quick and good. However, once found, it would be great if we could see the full filepath of that resulting folder or file (e.g. C:\Dropbox\.... ) so that it can be quickly found on my laptop or desktop machine. Can you add this feature please? (Under the iOS app, you can select 'Show in Folder' via the three dots next to the file, but this still doesn't give visability of the full path.) Thanks if you can help.325Views1like6CommentsThe ability to add tags in the mobile app.
Iâm not sure why this has been suggested for years now and this basic functionality still isnât present in the app. This makes your automation really frustrating if I canât add tags on my phone when Iâm away from my computer and adding files from my phone.307Views7likes7CommentsIt would be great to have a 1.75x option for playback speed of videos on the mobile app (iOS).
All major video platforms like YouTube, Wistia etc have 1.75 x speed also. Sometimes 1.5 is slow and 2 x is fast and hence 1.75x is idea for videos. So when I am watching the Dropbox video on my iPad it does not have 1.75x speed. Would be great to have this speed.216Views1like5CommentsThe Dropbox app should have a dedicated backups tab
I hope this message finds you well. I primarily utilize Dropbox to back up my laptop files and maintain a clone copy of my external drive. The service has been invaluable in ensuring the safety and accessibility of my data. I wanted to suggest a feature that I believe would greatly enhance the user experience: the addition of a dedicated tab within the Dropbox app to view backups. Currently, this functionality is only available through the web interface. Having direct access to my backups via the app would significantly improve convenience, allowing me to quickly verify and manage my files wherever I am. I believe this feature would be beneficial not only to me but also to many other users who rely on Dropbox for comprehensive file backups. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I appreciate the continuous improvements you make to Dropbox, and I look forward to seeing how the platform evolves. Hi Dropbox Team, Iâd love to see a feature added to the Dropbox iOS app that allows users to take multiple photos in rapid succession (batch mode) and have them automatically uploaded to a selected folder without needing to manually confirm each upload. This feature would be incredibly useful for: Field workers and inspectors who need to document multiple images quickly. Event photographers capturing fast moments that need instant cloud backup. Document scanning and archiving where multiple images need to be stored in Dropbox immediately. Currently, the Dropbox iOS app requires users to take and upload one photo at a time, which slows down workflows. A batch capture mode with real-time auto-upload would make Dropbox an even better tool for professionals. Please consider adding this feature in a future update! Thanks for your time.
