I just received an email from "no-reply" at Dropbox stating... You recently deleted 3948 files from your Dropbox account. If you want these files back, you can still restore them until 12/12/2025. After that, they’ll be permanently deleted. These are the files you deleted: SyncOperations.plist.lockfile and 3,947 files 11/12/2025 12:55 PM using Mac OS X 26.0.1 (link to see deleted files here, which seems legit) I definitely didn't do this. Dropbox seems to be working fine on all my devices. Is this a phishing attempt?Solved71Views0likes8CommentsHow to recover 2532 files that I had until August 24th to restore?

One of our company computer synchronising my Dropbox has been attacked by ransomware, and all folders and files for my company have been maliciously deleted. However, I cannot find any events related to this deletion or login. These are important teamwork documents and most of them are only stored in dropbox for teamwork purpose. I don't have most of the copy somewhere else. I have Dropbox Essential plan so there is supposed to be 180days Dropbox rewind for my account, I tried this feature to rewind back to the day before the ransomware attack, but it still comes up empty. How can the cloud documents be deleted completely from Dropbox? We have more than a thousand documents stored and we need recovering them. The support team seems unable to help with that. The reason we paid for Dropbox is to prevent sudden document loss. Has anyone had a similar situation?83Views0likes1CommentI don't have the option to delete a phishing file I received.
I was sent an email (it appeared to be from a trusted sender) directing me to dropbox to open a file. I clicked on it which sent the file to dropbox, but I did not open the file within dropbox. Only then did I learn that the email was a phishing scam. But now I can't delete the file from my dropbox. The three dots only give me two options: "open" and "copy link." How can I remove this file from my dropbox?? Thanks for any help, JenniferSolved223Views0likes5CommentsSomeone shared a phishing .paper with my organization. How can I delete it for everyone?
Someone from "HR Employee Benefit Admin" shared a phishing .paper titled "2025 Employee Pay Revision Benefit Effective February 08, 2025 - Pending Approval.paper" with my entire organization and, as a top admin, I would like to know how to remove it for all of our users. I can see where I can remove it for myself, but not all users.Solved171Views0likes6CommentsLost access to email associated with a Dropbox account that I haven't signed in it for 6-7 years.
I wish to recover my Dropbox account that I created when I was around 13 years old. It has a number of my childhood photos and other important files uploaded to it and I would really like to get access to that account again. Unfortunately I have since changed devices and phone numbers and I don't have access to the email I used to create the account. Google can't help me recover my account because they don't have enough information to prove that it's mine, so I can't reset my password on there and thus not on Dropbox either. I have tried all the options both Dropbox and Google have to offer me but to no avail. I haven't logged in to that account in probably 6-7 years but I would really like to get those files back, they mean a lot to me emotionally. Can someone please help me? I am willing to do anything at this point.93Views0likes2CommentsHow to log into my account and where are my files?
I want to resolve this? I see two things. 1. How do I login to my account? It asked me to create a new account with my previous email on file so it can say there is already an account associated... 2. I want to locate deleted files or files that were inside my dropbox that were there some years ago. I did not erase them. I see they were not there were I had them. 3. In the future I would not post this to the community, so I have only shown the last four of each...120Views0likes1Comment
