I use the browser version of Dropbox exclusively, and am baffled as to why the speeds are so painfully slow. We have gigabit internet at our studio, and while very other browser-based activity, download or upload can utilise the full bandwidth (commonly seeing 80MBp/s down and upload - on wetransfer for example). Dropbox, however, will typically never go beyond 6MBp/s either way. And opening new browser windows for each file upload is tedious. We're paying for a business service here, and I dont see why the featurset of the browser version should be so neutered. If there's some sort of setting that's been overlooked I'd love to know. I am new to Dropbox. I started adding some files and when I clicked on a couple of the files it said "Can't load this file type. This file type is unsupported here." I tried with two different files. They are not typical files as they are from a design software and gcode. Is there a way to save these files in Dropbox and be able to access them? I also need to access them on multiple devices. Is this possible? Reading the features I thought this would work but I didn't know you wouldn't be able to open certain file types. Is there a way to set it up to open the file directly in the program I need to use it in? I am currently using the free plan. Not sure if that makes a difference. Thank you.Solved8KViews0likes4CommentsWhat is the maximum download and upload speeds you can get when using the desktop app?
I'm setting up a new computer and syncing my dropbox business account to it. The internet connection is great on fiber optic cable (1500MB/s) but my download speeds on dropbox are about 24MB/sec What is the maximum anyone else is getting? How can I improve this?Solved79KViews3likes35CommentsCan I view symlinks on the mobile iOS app?
Hi. I've had to move all my files to my local/internal hard drive and use symlinks within dropbox to keep them backed up but now i cant access any of them remotely. The reason for moving them is because it was causing me all sorts of issues when running the files directly from within dropbox / file provider. Does anyone know a way of symlinks being possible to view within the iOS app or website? Thanks98Views0likes3CommentsTranscript option not showing for videos.
Hi. I am having trouble accessing the transcript feature in Dropbox. The Transcript button in the toolbar and the Transcript section in the sidebar are not visible on my end. I've already tried: Different browsers Incognito/private windows Refreshing and re-uploading But the transcript still isn't showing for any video. Is there a known issue with this feature, or is there something I need to adjust on my end? Thanks in advance for your help.87Views0likes4CommentsHow to download 500GB from Dropbox online and then add to iCloud?
My company has blocked Dropbox so I’m being forced to move to iCloud instead. This means I need to migrate anll my data/pictures etc to iCloud. Challenge is that the blocking is already done so I cannot download my content and then upload it to iCloud. I’m looking for a way to populate iCloud from my online Dropbox file store. Help, please! Hi, I have some albums of very precious photos created and stored on Photomyne (online). I would like to move them into my Dropbox, but can't work out how to do it. I have the option of downloading them from Photomyne onto my laptop, and then I imagine from there I will be able to move them to Dropbox, but I don't have enough storage on my laptop to do them all at once. And it would be laborious to do each one and then delete it to do the next? I am not very tech savvy but wonder if there is a way to transfer them directly to Dropbox? and if so can it be explained in very simple terms please? many thanks.Solved419Views0likes8Comments"Save as" results in Error "API function "files/list_folder""
