I am not a fan of cloud storage. That said, I have Dropbox installed on all my computers with different sync settings based on hard drive space, etc. However, in this case I have a 4TB hard drive so space is not an issue. My sync settings are to treat files as Available Offline. Save hard drive space automatically is toggled off. I have a few folders with images for my online store in them. When opening the folder in my image browser (Faststone) I'm having to wait for Dropbox to download images before they can be viewed. I'm not sure where to look to fix this, but I want my files downloaded to the appropriate computers, based on sync settings when they are uploaded. My workflow is as follows: Take raw photos with my phone or camera. Upload them to a specific folder on Dropbox. Open that folder on my computer to view and edit images. Save/convert those images to a new folder on Dropbox. Any guidance is appreciated.28Views0likes1CommentUsing Dropbox for wedding
I am currently organizing my wedding. One of the ideas that I have is providing guests with a QR code that direct them to my dropbox. The intent is for them to take pictures on the big day and upload them to the file so that after the wedding I can transfer the pics to shutterfly to make a book. When I asked a friend to try the process she was able to get to the file and was able to look at the pics that I have in there. She however was not able to load any of her own into the account and got the notification " this folder is view only". Is there any way that I can change the settings so that everbody that access the QR code can upload pics?Solved9.1KViews0likes8CommentsDoes Dropbox support 5 Gbps sync (uploads and dowload) speeds?
I am a professor a University of Florida (UF). We have a business Dropbox account through UF (I cannot use this community with that account for some reasons, so I am writing from my private one). I work often from home. All my data and my students' data (Many GBs and TBs) is constantly synced with Dropbox. Fiber was just installed in my neighborhood, and I am debating between 1Gbps and 5Gbps speed. The latter is 50% more expensive, but I would pay for it if Dropbox is able to handle Gbps uploads and dowload speeds. If not, there is not really much of a point, 1 Gbps is more than enough for all the other things I do. Thank you Best A22Views0likes1Comment"Folder has too many files to download" error
Hi, I recently upgraded Dropbox to 2tb bc iCloud is full and too expensive. Anyway I just want my pics. I have them sorted into folders I made. I donât need the folders, just the original images. I am receiving this error message âFolder has too many files to download.â How do I deal with this? Thanks for any help.40Views0likes2CommentsMy Camera Uploads lacks content, but I can see all of my content in the "Photos" tab.
My "Camera Uploads" folder only has photos going back one month, plus one short video from last June. However, all the photos from my phone going back years, including the ones taken in the past month, are in the "Photos" tab. This seems odd. Is this how it's supposed to work? And why is the only older file in "Camera Uploads" a single video from June? Thanks!84Views0likes11CommentsOur large PDF file has been separated into individual files after uploading to Dropbox via app.
Hi, I was recently asked to upload a large file set from our local storage to dropbox. We basically dragged and dropped into the dropbox app... however now that we are looking at the data, it has separated our multi page PDF files into a new PDF file, one for each page!!! Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to reverse this or at the very least keep it from happening again? Thanks!394Views0likes6CommentsPhotos tab previewing comments, and wishes to locate files using geolocation.
OneDrive has a feature where it syncs photos across Galaxy devices - so a photo taken on my phone, can be viewed in the Gallery app on my tablet - as well as on my computer or online. I currently have Dropbox Plus to backup all my photos, but the photo viewing experience in the Dropbox app is terrible - no searching by location (on a map), slow and painful due to no cached thumbnails, etc. I really prefer giving my money to an independent company like Dropbox, but double handling my photos is becoming a real pain (if I delete a photo from dropbox, I have to separately delete it from Gallery as well). Please don't make my swap my data storage needs to Microsoft!860Views0likes6Comments
