Bring back the option to automatically download files to Desktop
Hi, this was previously an option, but for some reason, DropBox removed the option in the latest update, which really increases work flow time to my business and employees. Please bring back the OPT...

Hi tko1908, since the recent change to the Mac OS verison of the desktop app, files will now automatically appear as online-only and will need to be marked as available offline to download fully to your machine.
If you have folders, you could mark the folder as offline, and files within it would download.

3 years agoHey tko1908, thanks for reaching out to us.
Can you please clarify what you're referring to?
Are you referring to new files syncing as 'online-only' instead of 'available offline' on the new Dropbox for macOS app?
If not, any additional info would be really helpful.
Thanks.

Hey, Hannah.
I use the DropBox Filder in desktop - not the app (although I believe the app is running invisibly in the background?).
Anyway, yes, when I (or my employees) upload files on iPhone, they no longer automatically download to our desktop DB folders. This used to be an option but with the last DB update, the option went away.
Not sure what is dangerous about offering it as an option that users could use or not use. The workflow for myself (and employees and accountant) to be forced to manually download every file to our desktop folder has increased our time notably.
