Download Directory

How do I change the Dropbox default download directory?  Dropbox always immediately downloads to my computer's Downloads directory although my browser is set to "always ask".  I would prefer Dropbox to "always ask" BEFORE downloading.

That will happen if you have the browser set to open that particular file type in the browser, such as how I have that set for PDF files.

Dropbox has no control over that. It's controlled by your browser. There are no settings within Dropbox to tell it what folder to download to because it's your browser that handles the download.

Interesting.  I've been using Firefox.  If I download multiple files Dropbox creates a ZIP file and asks me where I want to save it.  If I download a single file it downloads immediately to my computer's Download directory, and opens the file in a new browser tab.  I've never seen similar Firefox actions on any other site.  I'll try again using Edge and see what happens.

Thanks for the info!  Right above the "Applications" section is the "Downloads" section in which I had selected "Always Ask".  I thought this overrode the individual "Applications", but that must not be the case.  I've made changes in Settings accordingly.  Thanks again for your help!
