SELECTING MULTIPLE STARRED FILES

Hi, Can anyone help with a shortcut to selecting multiple starred files?

I have over 300 starred photo files I'm trying to download.

There's got to be a better way than clicking all those files; plus the star feature is touchy--if you click on the wrong area it will deselect everything and then I have to start over.

Thank you for your expertise and help!!

  • Hi porchbaby, and welcome aboard the Community!

What you can do is go to your Photos page on www.dropbox.com and then, click on the Starred column there; all of your starred photos should appear.

If you have many images for each year, you can also select the “Year” option from the menu, and click on the small checkboxes above each year’s photos. That should select all of them and you can then, download them in bulk.

I hope that makes sense, but I’m here if you need to ask me something.

Hi again, Maxime Coevoet! I was about to log a ticket for you, but I see you’ve recently chatted with our support team about this.

I’ve left them an internal note on your behalf, and they’ll continue troubleshooting in the same email thread directly.

    Thanks!

I have starred thousands of photos and the only file identified in the Photos folder is a video. My starred files are mostly RAWs, so I can understand that the program doesn't identify it as a photo, just want to check if that's correct?

Hey sydpsd - if the files aren't showing in general in your Photos page, starring them won't make them appear there.

You'll be able to see them in your homepage under the Starred option.

    I hope this helps!

Great, but how to bulk UNSTAR hundreds of items afterwards? Even at the Photos page, I select all of them and if I try UNSTARring them it only allows me to do it one by one... please allow SELECTION OF FILES and mass actions on the starred items!!!

Hey dessita - thanks for joining the discussion here.

Mass un-starring files isn't an option at this time as you noticed, but thank you for the feedback.

I've noted it down in our system and you can let us know if you have anything else to add.

    Dear Support, Hannah,

are there any updates in the amount files limited to 2000 starred files?

It it so painfull for us to not be able to retreive our old starred photos ...

Many thanks in advance for your attention,

    Maxime
