"This action only valid for products currently installed" error when opening files on Windows

When I click on a dropbox file in explorer it appears to be looking for a C: drive location and gives this error to some excell and msoft files. I can still see and access the files through dropbox via explorer but then cant download them. Have also tried to reinstall Dropbox app

 

 

Would appreciate any thoughts on what else to try

    Hey GordoT, sorry to hear about this.

     

    Can you please send us a screenshot of the Dropbox desktop app's exact status and version as shown in your system tray at the moment?

     

    Also, does this happen with files that are available offline on your computer or with files that are online only perhaps?

     

    Any additional information is more than welcome!
