My office shares and edits unlinked docs and I'm then responsible for accepting the edits and uploading the final doc to Dropbox. Recently, I've been unable to upload the doc with it keeping its formatting and fonts. It will be formatted correctly on my OS desktop but when I save it and upload it, the fonts in the preview are bold. When I then go to open it in word for the web, I get this error: If I choose to open it in reader view, it reverts back to the correct formatting. I have checked and the font is in my font book and have no clue what could be causing this. formatting on my desktop app Formatting after uploading and opening in preview Formatting after opening as read only in word for web Thanks in advance for any guidance.42Views0likes5CommentsNetwork error downloading large files with Dropbox Transfer
I received a "protected" link with a few files from a client. I'm required to sign in to access large documents. However, upon signing in (with the correct credentials), the following message is displayed: Network Error! Please verify your information and try again How do I fix this? I've tried multiple browsers (including in private/incognito modes), cleared cache and history, closed all extensions, turned on and off VPNs, changed my password but nothing works.71Views0likes9CommentsNumerous technical issues with Paper App
Far too many issues to list here. Apart from the chaotic disaster of non-migrated and missing files, last year images disappeared in my Paper App for several months, despite the "specialist engineering team looking into it" (what a joke). The lastest fiasco is that links do not work across all of my Paper files in the App (the desktop version is fine). Could someone (serious) at Dropbox please inform your incredibly tolerant, long-suffering subscribers what on earth is going on? If the App is to be discontinued, which would appear to be the case judging by the fact that it has been abandoned (no updates since Version 262.2 over two years ago) could someone at least have the courtesy to let us know so we can stop paying for a ditched product and look for alternatives? This message is not intended to be disrespectful, quite simply like many of your users I have now completely run out of patience with this intolerable situation.67Views1like7CommentsMy iOS Dropbox app won't play one of my videos; it says the file extension's missing.
I have a video file on my PC (Win 11) that plays there. I upload to drobox folder and it plays both in windows app and via web on PC. When synced to iphone (iphone 16 plus - iOS 18.3.1) the app (version 414.3.2) won't load or play the video - gives error that says it's missing file extension and to rename the file. However the file clearly has the extension in the name. This happens when the file is available offline (downloaded). It won't load or play at all if not available offline. Says can't load file. Ideas?39Views0likes2CommentsDropbox job application not submitting
Hello! I'm trying to apply for a position at Dropbox but the website keeps failing when I press Submit. I have tried different browsers and have filled out the form 3 different times already. The job I'm applying to is here: https://jobs.dropbox.com/listing/6488659 I saw this thread from 3 months ago where customer support helped, so I thought I'd give it a shot too: https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001020/dropbox-job-application-form-not-submitting/811395 Thanks in advance!36Views0likes2CommentsI get this error "too long path name" and I can't copy paste my files to an external hard drive.
I’m aiming to create a backup of all my files from Dropbox to an external hard drive. I used the copy-paste method to transfer all the files, but while some files were copied, not all of them were, and I keep getting an error message regarding "too long path name." Could you please assist me in resolving both issues: Ensuring a full backup copy on my external hard drive. Fixing the "too long path name" error. Thank you for your help!63Views0likes3CommentsI can't open an Excel document stored in Dropbox through my iPad Pro.
Through the ‘Recents’ folder in Excel, I try to open an Excel doc stored in Dropbox, on my iPad Pro, I get a request or which asks if I want to link Microsoft Office Mobile with Dropbox. It asks which account I want to link with; I tell it. (I have a Personal Plus account). It briefly tells me, ‘working on it’ then jumps back to the ‘Recents’ files, without opening the doc. If I try to open it from Dropbox, via the App, the same thing happens. The App Center in Dropbox is no help at all, it indicates that MS Mobile is linked, and as far as I can see offers no way of linking a new App anyway. Dropbox Support is worse than useless; as a Plus account, I should have access to live chat, but I cannot find any reference to or way of accessing this. I have already wasted several hours with this run-around, and am stunned by the poor design of this whole site.639Views0likes19CommentsI downloaded one of my folders months ago and now I can't unzip it as it throws an error.
Hi! I downloaded a folder full of pictures and then deleted from dropbox. I didn't checked the files right after and a couple months later when i wanted to unzip i realized that there went something wrong since there was a 0 byte foldername.zip and a normal size foldername.n3QcyulW.zip.part among the downloads. Sadly I couldn't open that and the error message told that the destination path of the file includes caracters blocking the unzip. Anyone has an idea if it is possible to repair the file or somehow reach the files? It is a couple gigabyte so there should be something zipped. Thanks29Views0likes3Comments
