Can I turn off notifications that others receive when I edit a file?
Everytime I edit a document, others who share the document get notified of changes made to the file. This happens every 30 seconds as I'm constantly making changes. How do turn this off so others' dropbox is not flooded with notifications regarding changes I'm making?

There's no way for you to turn notifications that they receive. Instead, they can turn off various notifications, including those for edits to files, within their own Dropbox Preferences.

How do they do that?

The option to disable the various notifications is within Preferences in the Dropbox app on their computers.
