Can we have a way to tell if a FileMaker 11 database is open on a user's end?
In our office we use a FileMaker database. However there are two people who use it and one can't tell if the other has the database open. This causes problems if both people are adding or changing data. I realize this is not a server so two can't use the same file at the same time. However, it would be a great help if somehow we can tell on the list if it is opened already. I think it works for Microsoft products. Could FileMaker 11 be added?

You should look at locking the file prior to opening it, then unlocking it after you've closed the file. It will prevent a second person from making changes and causing conflicted copies of the file.

Hey there scfo - thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this with us.
From what I gather you're looking for something like the Dropbox Badge, but for FileMaker 11 instead - am I on the right track?
Just to clarify, are you all part of the same Dropbox team account or are you using individual accounts instead?
In general, we recommend that people do not sync live databases with Dropbox since most databases have remote access methods anyway and you don't need to sync the live database. You can sync saved snapshots, however, with no issues.
In any case, please let us know more and we'll take it from there.
