Cannot find one folder after uninstalling and installing dropbox on an iMac

Hello,

Yesterday I removed the dropbox files from my iCloud and deleted the Dropbox Desktop App, I'm using an iMac. Today I reinstalled Dropbox and I can see all the folders I had except for the largest one (about 6GB). I cannot find it inside the App nor inside the dropbox web account. I checked on my phone and the folder is not there. I also checked the deleted files and it doesn't appear.

I'll appreciate the help to recover that important info. Thanks.

Hey Kangjavi - sorry to hear about your missing folder.

Do you see any signs of it in your events page?

This is the place where all uploads, edits, and deletions are normally logged so it should be showing there for you to restore.

I hope this helps and please keep me posted!

Hi, I understand that you accidentally removed a large Dropbox folder from your iCloud and deleted the Dropbox Desktop App on your iMac. Now that you have reinstalled Dropbox, you are unable to find the missing folder. I have already fix xit for rubmd. I will guide you through the steps to recover the lost data.

Step 1: Check the Dropbox Rewind feature

If you have a Dropbox Plus, Professional, or Enterprise account, you may be able to restore the missing folder using the Dropbox Rewind feature. This feature allows you to revert your Dropbox account to a previous state, potentially bringing back the deleted folder.

Open the Dropbox website and sign in to your account.

Click on the "Rewind" button in the top right corner.

Select the date and time to which you want to rewind your account. This should be a date before you deleted the folder.

    Click on the "Rewind" button.

Once the rewind process is complete, check if the missing folder has been restored.

Step 2: Check the Deleted Files section

If Dropbox Rewind is not available or does not restore the folder, you can check the Deleted Files section to see if the folder is still there.

Open the Dropbox website and sign in to your account.

Click on the "Deleted files" option in the left sidebar.

If the missing folder is listed, click on the checkbox next to it and then click on the "Restore" button.

The folder should be restored to its original location in your Dropbox account.

Step 3: Use data recovery software

If the folder is not found in the Deleted Files section, you may need to use data recovery software to attempt to recover it from your iCloud or your iMac's hard drive. Data recovery software can sometimes recover data that has been deleted or overwritten, but there is no guarantee of success.

Here are some popular data recovery software options:

    Disk Drill
    R-Drive Recovery
    GetDataBack for Mac
    Prevention Tips

To avoid losing data in the future, consider the following tips:

Regularly back up your Dropbox files to an external hard drive or cloud storage service.
Enable Dropbox File Version History to keep track of changes made to your files.
Be careful when deleting files or folders from your Dropbox account.
    I hope this helps!
