From your second screenshot, the default app to open the files is the Dropbox site. Could you change it to make this Excel on the web?

This is what it looks like.
Believe me, I have checked every corner of this page to try to find some way to open it via Excel online.
Do you have any other solutions? For me it seems that there might have been some update done by you guys that broke the interaction between excel and dropbox.

4 years agoHi AxelG, could you try disconnecting the Excel app, or Microsoft Office from this page, and then try opening Excel on the web again to reconnect it?
Is the default on this page to open via Excel on the web, or via Google Sheets?

Hey Jay,
Hope you had a great easter.
I did what you said and it didnt help. I disconnected the office application, restarted the browser, connected the application by creating a new excel file. It still didnt help.
Also the Default app to open .xlsx, .xls files is Excel.
Im attaching two photos to show how it looks like.

Hey Jay,
That actually worked. Now the files open automatically in Excel for Web.
Altough the other bug still exists that I can see the "Open in Excel for Web" when I look at the file in Dropbox, this atleast works as a workaround.
Thanks alot.
