We just switched to Dropbox for Business. We have several Excel files with formulas that link to other Excel files all saved in a shared folder. With our local server the links would work for every user the same. Now with using Dropbox, the link will work for one user and not for another user. If the 2nd user changes the file path to make the link work for them, then it will no longer work for the first user. How do we make it so all users in the shared file can open the Excel file and have the links update without having to change the file path for each user?Solved14KViews2likes3CommentsI'm missing information from a file and it's not in the version history - can I get it back?
Hi, Please can someone help? I'm missing 4 months of information in one of my excel files. Information from June 2025 to 6 October 2025 …… I need to restore all the information up until the 6 October 2025. I've looked at all the version history files and they all the same with missing information for 4 months .... Is there any other way to find this information ... It's extremely valuable. See attached ..... They all have the same information but we add to this file daily .... I don't know what has happened and how to get the information back ? Good morning, on my Dropbox from my computer I have created several files with Excel and I edit them very often. If I access from my smartphone I can only see the files but not modify them. Is there a solution? Thank you1.4KViews0likes9CommentsI'm being asked to save a copy of my Excel file instead of the original file on mobile.
I have a spreadsheer in a shared Dropbox folder and I am the only person with editor access to it. When I open it on my desktop it saves fine, but when I open it on my mobile it tries to save a copy even though it definitley isn't open on my desktop at the tme. I don't want to save a copy. I just want to be able to make changes to the file on my mobile as well as on my desktop, and to save the file - not a copy - on either platform. Is this impossible? Hi there I have one dropbox account for work purposes. After working perfectly, I'm now having issues with the dropbox app on windows laptop. Error message: "word is unable to read this document. It may be corrupt. Try one or more of the following: open and reapair the file/open the file with the text recovery converter". this is affecting 90 per cent of the documents I try and access from the app. I have ensured I'm logged in to the same account (I only have one anyway), uninstalled and reinstalled the app and used selective sync for the folders I need to see in the app. following exactly the same steps on a different laptop, it all works perfectly. So, is there something about a setting on my work laptop that could be causing this? help very much appreciated! thank you1.9KViews1like7CommentsI see an older version of my Excel files - how can I get the latest one?
I have 2 excel files that I had saved on my dropbox account. This week I received a new laptop from work and when I opened the files they are a version from several months ago. Is there a way to get those newer versions? What did I do wrong that the files were not updated in my dropbox account?Solved7.9KViews1like25CommentsAn Excel file I share with a Business team is creating conflicted copies
Hi I am currently working on a project for an organisation with an excel file. The excel file is contained in their Dropbox and which I 'share' and have edit rights. This is where I am confused and hope to get a clearer view of what is happening. I have created an excel file and uploaded to the shared drive. I assume that when I open the file to view/amend etc, I am in my personal account not their business account. When I or someone else opens the file, it is creating a conflicted copy of the file. So anytime someone accesses the file it will create a 'conflicted copy' no matter whether it is a member sharing through their business account or me via my personal account? Is there no way to sync a file?Solved3.8KViews0likes11Comments"Account Limit Reached for Dropbox" error, when trying to open an Excel file on my phone
