Did Dropbox keep the data of my old Plus account, or is it lost after downgrading to Basic?

I had a Plus account for years but had to downgrade to Basic a year ago. Now I want to upgrade back to Plus. Did DBox still retain my previous data (pictures, etc) that were in my Plus and restore it to the newly upgraded Plus account or has that been lost forever?

If the data shows at http://www.dropbox.com/home it is still available, if, however, it isn't showing then its not available.

Dropbox does delete data when users are over quota, or, when an account is not used. That only happens after multiple warning emails, however. If you have had them then its not possible to restore the deleted data.

Do you still have the old account and can you sign in to it? If so, your files might be there.

If you still have the old account, it should still contain whatever files were in it with a few exceptions. First, after the downgrade, if you were over your storage quota, Dropbox would start to delete files after a while to bring the account back below your quota. They would start with the newest files and work backwards. Second, if the account remained idle for more than a year, then the entire account would have been deleted along with all the files. In either of these cases, the files cannot be recovered.

Upgrading your account will never bring back files that you had previously.
