Dropbox Paper leave a shared document or folder
I am having a problem, I read an article about how to manage projects using paper, the article had a link to a sample Paper Document, I clicked on it and I was added to the Document list of people who can see and commend along with a couple hundred more that also clicked the link, now that I looked at the file I want to remove it from my Paper Docs, but I cannot find the option to do so, I can archive my own documents and eventually delete them, but I cannot remove or leave that document that was "shared" with me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am new to Dropbox Paper, I manage my notes elsewher but want to move all of them to Paper, I will pull the trigger once I can also have offline access to those notes on my Mac.

Has there been any progress on this? Definately not solved and don't want to continue looking at Paper files people have invited me to that I cannot get rid of!

Please have a look at this discussion at your earliest convenience & do let me know how you get on with this advice on this conversation.I hope that this is helpful to you & I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts! - djordjevanjek8 years agoExplorer | Level 4
No, that doesn't work.
I'm not following the document which is shared with me and it's still in my view.
It's a private document which is shared with me and I can only view it.Please figure out a solution to opt-out from documents like this.
Thank you.

Hello! I'm facing the same problem as people above - I'm not able to remove myself from the shared document.
Is there any work being done on the topic?
re. unfollowing: I did unfollow a document that was shared with me, but it still appears in "Home" in the list of documents.

Hey AlexSimkin, to re-phrase my initial suggestions, if you’re an Editor, you can Archive the doc for everyone accessing it, though if you have Viewer rights you can ask the Owner to remove you if you’d like to de-clutter your workspace. That said, it would be worth noting that I’ve already made sure to pass your comments on to our team specialists, as your thoughts help us better understand your needs & I’ve added your voice to the feedback gathered internally.Other than that, I'm always here in case you’d like to continue this discussion in more depth. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day ahead! - stephenhowells8 years agoNew member | Level 2
Jane,
As a paying Dropbox customer, please reiterate for I'm sure the thousandth time, to the people in charge of Paper that this issue is utterly ridiculous. I honestly can't believe that there is any solid customer research and feedback to support making shared items basically permanent. At the very least I should be able to hide these documents somehow. It's almost 2019 and I still cannot leave a shared document. Every other stranger who is shared on this document can also view my email address. I could go on extensively about my frustration but you get the idea. I'll just stop by saying I've even considered closing my Dropbox account because of this issue.

it's 2019 now and they still don't have a solution for this... :(

Are you ever going to fix this silly problem?

I can't believe that it's Dropbox service. Shame on you!

Seriously. What is the hold up?
A document was shared with me. I viewed it. I'm just a "viewer" so I have no way to remove myself. I show up in the "activity" of the document and I can't remove it from "Paper Home".
Please allow users to remove themselves from a document that was shared with them.
