File on my desktop that i cannot delete

Does anybody know what i need to do to remove this particular file from my desktop? Because i've been trying to get rid of it for a long time and i don't know what to do. The file has name desktop.ini and it appears everytime after i try to delete it or put it in a folder. I simply don't want it to be there for lots of reasons. Please help me, i'm tired of this issue. Thanks for the answer in advance!

  • As this is technically a hidden file in the system, and one created by the OS, it wouldn't be possible to remove that file from the desktop.

Hi daily, thanks for messaging the Community.

This is a hidden file that is created by your Windows OS, so if you delete the file, Windows would just re-create it each time.

Has this issue occurred recently? Could you clarify on why you believe Dropbox created the file?

This will help me to assist further!

    Hello,
Recently, I got a new computer and I decided to download dropbox because the app itself is really convenient and helped me out a lot on the past

After I did everything that app asked me to do this file appeared on my desktop. Now, I'm not quite sure weather it's dropbox created a file or not.
