How can I delete locked files from my account?

Can someone help me figure out what to do? I left a company and returned my work computer. I had some personal photos on it from the last time I saw my father.  They were nice enough to pull the photos off and put them in a drop box folder tied to my personal email. However, I am now at capacity in my dropbox folder and I can't delete the photo files they put in there because they have a lock on the file folder.   The company is no longer in business and I don't know how to deal with this because I can't just create a new account with my personal email.  Any advice?

Hi Woofie, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

From what you've described, it sounds like this is a shared folder on your account, to which you have read-only access.

You should be able to download the files to your computer, if they aren't already syncing, and copy them to a folder outside of the Dropbox folder.

Once done, you can temporarily leave the shared folder, which would free up quota on your account.

Keep me updated with any progress!

No worries! Just to check, were you able to free up the quota on your account?
