2 years agoHi nilesh1231, I see, interesting!
Is this the first time you're editing this file? If you have a screenshot of the error message you get on your end, feel free to share it with us, in order to have a clear visual too.

Hi nilesh1231, currently it isn't possible to edit text files on the Dropbox site. This would only be possible on the Dropbox mobile app.
If you wish, you can suggest this change for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future!

Dropbox Designer
Hi nilesh1231,
I work on the Dropbox design team. We recently added the ability to add signatures to documents from upload and preview. Did you click the pencil icon expecting to edit the document?
As Megan said, it isn't possible to edit the TXT on the website, Dropbox.com, but you have two other options.
1) You can copy the text and put it into a different kind of document. On the home screen, click the big blue Create button for a menu that offers these options. The new document will automatically be saved on Dropbox.
2) You can open and edit all file types from your computer with the desktop app (provided you have the appropriate software). If you haven't downloaded it, you can do that here: https://www.dropbox.com/desktop. The desktop app puts a Dropbox folder in your computer's file directory. From there, you can view and access everything on Dropbox, open and edit files, and keep them synced to Dropbox. When you install it, it will give you the option to sync everything on your computer to Dropbox.
I hope that's helpful. Thank you for your feedback!
