I have an error syncing FROM PC TO Dropbox. Now overridden new with old. How do I recover lost files on PC?

Huge thanks for the replies... Yes local laptop files have been overwritten with older copies from Dropbox.
I hadn't noticed that that syncing has stopped working (since Nov!!)... so I have lost a huge amount of work stored on my local files, and didn't realise the "sync" was going the wrong way round while trying to back up from local to cloud!!! no idea how this could happen as I didn't change any settings. ????
I have the subscription "Dropbox Essentials" ... looking at "deleted" files - they are old ones prior to this event. I agree that I need to recover from my laptop - as Dropbox has never had the latest versions saved...
Any help would be so so so appreciated,...

11 days agoHey JMeen, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here.
To be honest, if you've gone through the version history of those files and cannot find the versions you need there, it does mean that they never made it to Dropbox, so there's not much else that can be done on our side.
Recovering them locally from your computer would be your best bet at this point.
I'm sorry I couldn't help more, but let me know if you have any more questions.
