I accidentally moved a folder into another folder, how can I put it back?
I have accidentall picked up and dropped a folder, from my folder list, and dropped it into another folder and I would like to put it back to where it came from. Can someone please help me with a step by step to do this. I am using dropbox for the second time and haven't found anything in the FAQ that is remotely helpful to me. Thank you.

Hi Shiralee; welcome to the Community!
Can you let me know if you're using the website (via a web browser), the desktop app (so copying or moving files into your Dropbox folder) or maybe the mobile app to do this?
You should be able to move it back out from where you moved it following the exact same steps when you did it in the first place; do you remember how you did this at all or was it completely accidental?
Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there.

Hi Walter,
I had picked up a photo file to move it into one of my folders and somehow I dropped it along the way and picked up the folder and had dropped that into the folder before I realised I had done it until I couldn't find that folder.
So if I pick up the folder and drag it will it come out of the folder it went into and go back to the folder list?
Thank you.

Walter,
I meant to say I was working on my laptop at the time. I went in through an icon on my task bar. I am also running Linux but have google chrome which all my internet stuff is done through.
Thanks

Thanks for the additional information Shiralee; much appreciated!
Since you used the desktop app (I guess you access it via the system tray on your laptop), you should be able to move it back to wherever it was originally.
In case you come across an issue while doing so though, please let me know here and we'll take it from there.
