Still having this problem... I am leaving dropbox because of this, but it a pretty big process to change the workflow I've had for ten years, plus moving that TB of data. Still open for sollutions, even though it seems like the Dropbox team has abandoned this thread.

grantcrenshawYes that's interesting that we're on so different machines with different OS. I wonder if we have some third party software in common that causes this. Hard to find out... It doesn't seem to happen to most people, even friends of mine with a very similar setup. 

I can't get over though that it seems like dropbox is starting to sync while the file is still being written, which sounds like a really bad idea?
