Hi there, patloomy, welcome to our Community!

Are you using the Dropbox website to organize your files?

If that's the case, you should be able to see the number of files in a folder, by checking the box next to the "Name" column header above your files in any folder.

This shouldn't show you the files the shortcut leads to, though.
