Hi nitinsirsat, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If your account was deactivated due to inactivity, this means it wouldn't be possible to recover the account or the data within.
Given that you're able to create a new account with the same email, this means that the previous account is no longer available.

1 year agoOnce an account is removed as its deactivated its not possible to recover. There is a possibility that the dates of inactivity do not exactly match up to 12 months, but, you are sent multiple email reminders that it will occur.

If an account has been deleted for inactivity it hasnt been accessed in a year - or accessed after Dropbox sent the multiple emails (over 3 months) saying it would be deleted.
In that case the data isnt recoverable.
If you log in again using the same details and the account is empty the data is lost.
