Open files from Dropbox Web in the File Explorer
I'm on Dropbox Web and looking for a way to open a file or folder in the Windows File Explorer (I have the Dropbox app installed). I recall there used to be a way to do this, but can't seem to find it now. Does this functionality still exist (and if so, how can it be done)?

Hi kgaiser, I'd be happy to help with this!
It looks like you're referring to the Open function from the website. Can you check out this article for some additional info?
Give me another nudge if you have any other questions, cheers!

Thank you Megan - your suggestion works; the only caveat worth noting is that the file or folder must be synced (either locally or online) to your local computer for the "File Explorer" option to appear.

Hello Megan,
I have similar problem (sorry for my bad ENglish, from France)
For most of my files in dropbox.com, I can use the Open function from the website, to open into the windows Explorer. But for 3 folders, I don't have the option !
SO the only for me to get back the files on the pc is to upload the folder ...
Can you help me with this ? - Jay3 years ago

Hi CathLG, is there anything special about these 3 folders? Are you already synced on your local machine? Do they have any special characters in the name, or are they shared folders?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Thanks Jay for answering.
Yes already synced for all the other folders.
No special characters.
yes they are shared. and directly under principal Dropbox folder.
- one, "PROJET 1" I am the proprietary
- the second one, I am not, "PROJET 2" only shared with me but with full right- ... I deleted the third one, after transferring the file somewhere else
but I have some other shared folder that are correctly synced. but they are somewhere under non-shared folder ... - Hannah3 years ago

Hey CathLG, just to confirm, are these folders currently synced and available in your Dropbox folder?
What syncing icons do they have next to them?
Is the application "up to date", when you look at the Dropbox icon?
