Restore files isn't working
I have tried this in both Edge and IE, on Windows 7 and 10. When I try and restore files and folders in the web interface, it says restoring but nothing happens. If I go back to the list of files th...

Thanks for getting back to me here tim1889!
If it was a large deletion then this could be why there was a delay when restoring them. It may be that the process took a while to complete on the back end.
I'm glad to hear that you restored your files though. Please feel free to give me another nudge if you have any other questions.
Cheers!

Hello Dropbox! I know I am now necroing a 5 year old post, and I am not even sure anyone will answer it. I think it's important and relevant though.
All I want to know is:
I deleted the Dropbox folder on C:/ to format discs and reinstall Windows 10. Before doing this I copied the entire folder I had on my computer to a different hard disc drive.
After some days I got an E-mail saying i had deleted between 3000 and 4000 files and that I had a month to restore them. I hit the restore button, but nothing happened. Just wanna add that it didn't even seem like anything was deleted in the first place, and everything is now synched up to my computer.
So what exactly did the restore button do for me? I did download that folder as a zip file first, but A LOT of it was missing. Synched up now after downloading and installing Dropbox, it seems just like before I deleted the folder, before reinstalling Windows 10 (everything is there).
P.S. The main reason I make this post is because when I entered the delete/restore page, the files are still there and the restore button active. I just want those files gone from that page, so I know 100% surely that the folder synched up today, is gonna stay like that.

9 months agoHi Laffi, did you delete the Dropbox folder or files inside it prior to quitting or uninstalling the Dropbox desktop application?

Backed up Dropbox folder to another hard disc, then deleted the folder.
I pushed the restore button in the page I got in the link in my E-mail. Not sure if it did anything.- Hannah9 months ago

Hey Laffi, what does your events page show about this whole thing?

Okay, first and foremost. After installing Dropbox all my files was put back into my Private folder. After it had synched, I copied my backup folder into the Dropbox folder, but it didn't like that, so it resynched everything over again. After checking I could find every file that I originally had in the folder before I reinstalled Windows.
For yesterday it says:
-You added 3345 files -> Yesterday 3:59 PM
-You deleted 3346 files -> Yesterday 3:59 PM
-You added the app Dropbox Community Forum -> Yesterday 4:04
Anyway. When I visit the link from my e-mail I got from you, the files no longer have any names. Only a spaceship icon.
I'll guess that concludes my question, and that everything is back in place? Some of the files do have names though, but it doesn't look anything like yesterday.
Thanks!
Laffi
P.S Originally it said 3900 files were deleted, and my backup folder is a few 100 MB bigger. Not sure what would be missing anyhow, but Dropbox would not accept those extra files just dropped in.
