The Dropbox Photo folder
Maybe I missed an explanation of the "Photo" folder.
So Dropbox "adds" photos to the "Photo" folder as I upload them to MY folder structure.
I have all my photos stored in MY separate folders, and there is still a reference that DP puts in the "Photo" folder.
Do I need the "Photo" folder? I don't need it.
1) Are they just pointers to the photos in MY folders? Or are they duplicate photos in the "Photo" folder?
2) Can I delete the "Photo" folder w/o effecting the photos I've stored in MY folders?
3) Is the "Photo" folder just a convenience?
4) Do the photos in the "Photo" folder count against my space?
Thx
JB
1) Yes thats correct
2) You cannot delete that as its a standard Dropbox feature on the web
3) Yes
4) Yes they do - but only once via the ORIGINAL location that they are stored in. You are not double charged quota for them to be in a folder AND Photos.

Thx - so they are just pointers to the original photo in MY folder?
Delete it in the "Photo" folder and the original in MY folder is also deleted?

Hey JB M.2! Yes, the Photos tab just shows all the photos you have stored in different locations of your Dropbox account, and it’s not taking up extra space from it, as these aren’t duplicates.
So, if you delete a photo via the Photos tab, it’ll also be deleted from the original folder.
Hope this helps!
