Trying to Understand DropBox Photo Storage

I'm considering moving from Google Workspace to DropBox and have a few questions. I assume the navigation bar link named "Photos" is simply a single place to see all photos from all folders and subfolders. What's confusing is that there are a number of photos where the info pane claims the photo location is "dropbox".  See photo at link example: https://i.imgur.com/QMzvgEt.jpg

However I do not have any photos in the Dropbox root directory. In this specific instance the photos are actually in a folder named "pics" that was shared with me. So why isn't the info pane showing me the correct location, which should be DropBox>Pics? I've also moved that folder around to see if that would fix the issue. However no matter where I move it, when I go to the photos section and look at the info pane for any of those photos it still shows "DropBox" as the location.

Thanks

Hey David H.78, how are you today?

Would you mind attaching the screenshot itself to your next reply here?

We can't access the link you included, for security reasons.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, is there an attachment mechanism I am not seeing? All I see is the option to insert a link or embed a photo. And when I tried to insert an embedded photo it would not work. There is not much to the image - it shows the photo location as "dropbox" same as mentioned in my post.

Hi David H.78, thanks for the screenshot!

Do you use your mobile or website when viewing the content you mentioned above?

Provided that the content is part of a shared folder, it should show you the path of the folder indeed. You mentioned that you don't have any photos in your Dropbox directory on your end, and that the file is part of a shared folder. Could you send me another screenshot of the file above, as shown in your shared folder?

I am viewing Dropbox via desktop browser. To clarify, I have photos in Dropbox, just none in the root folder. Here is a screenshot of the same file in the shared folder as requested. And here the path is correct. This was the same path I was expecting to see in the info pane in Photos so it's good to know that's how it should work.

Hi David H.78, can you try checking the info of this specific file on your Photos tab, but from a different browser?

Do you get the same results?

Same results in chrome and firefox. I also tested it and it appears to be related only to shared folders, whether they are shared with me or by me. If a folder is not shared the info shows up correctly. The moment I share the folder, the photo/s location show up as "dropbox" in the info pane in the Photos section.
