Why are the words "Simplify your Life" being added to my Dropbox links
Just as the subject implies.
I right click on a folder or file, choose "Copy Dropbox link" and when I paste it into a forum, it looks OK, but when I submit the post, it has my link with the wor...

Hi All
I am a bit late to the party here, but found this article by a google search 'Why are the words "Simplify your Life" added to the end of my Dropbox links'
Anyway, just had the same thing posting a file link to a forum, that forum is based on discourse, (I think?)
So whatever it is, it is not just WhatsApp doing this to people!
Hope this helps anybody in a small way!

Having the same problem here and it's now THREE years since the first post. Has this been fixed yet? It's causing me real problems with my clients trusting links I send. The words "Simplify your life" appear when I paste the dropbox folder link into Whatsapp, but not into an email.

Why are the words "Simplify your life" being added to my Dropbox folder links when I paste them into Whatsapp? It doesn't happen when I paste to emails, only Whatsapp. It's a serious problem, because it makes the links I send to my clients look like spam or a virus. How do I stop this from happening? It happens to all the folder links I send.
I've spoken to your chat service and they say "This appears automatically as part of letting the user receiving the link know that they are receiving this link from the Dropbox service."
They said it's not something Dropbox can control, yet the three words that are being added are from your own website. So yes, it clearly is something you can control and no, I cannot complain or take it up with Whatsapp, because 1) I don't pay them money like I pay Dropbox and 2) contacting anything or anyone at Meta is completely futile and you know it. This also means I cannot use Dropbox to send links to my clients so I'm going to close my account. Are you able to prevent this or should I close my account and go to Google? Thanks.

That's very polite, but I've spoken to three of your colleagues and so far nobody can locate where those three spammy words are populating from on your website and nothing has changed, so... ?

I have precisely the same issue, adding my voice to this request. If DropBox really wants some kind of slogan here, then make it something neutral like 'Cloud Sharing'. I am a paying customer BTW and don't appreciate a sales slogan.
