Why is Dropbox making conflicted copies in my game files?

The article I previously linked states that the last saved versions of the file will always appear as the conflicted copy.
As to whether or not you need the original file or the newer conflicted copy file, that would be up to you to determine which is required for your needs.

In general, this could occur in these situations for files in the Dropbox folder.
As this is related to files and mods in games, given that both mods and games update their own files when needed, it's possible the two conflicted and created this issue.

This isn’t an error in one game, Dropbox created two copies of the Curseforge app, that aop isn’t part of the game files, and not owned by EA. Dropbox also created copies of files in a games file documents.
point is I’m not sure which copy is the up to date versions. Surely Dropbox can advise how to find which is the newest version as it’s Dropbox conflicted copies? The copies are called ‘LATOP-D1CIIP93’s conflicted copy 2025-01-26’ as well as the original title (for example Curseforge)- Jay11 months ago
