Bring back File Request option in File Explorer.
I used to be able to initiate a "Request Files" by right clicking on the file I wanted the documents to go into. This is more efficient that having to go to the web version, as I 99.9% work out of the File Explorer on my PC. Please bring back the option to "Request Files" in the right click menu.

I agree with everyone here. I’ve been a paid dropbox user for years. I will be moving to a different platform/ service if request files isn’t immediately returned.

Are there any updates here?

Unfortunately not. In fact, after I posted the one work around, I noticed the next day that that was also removed. 😣

Orion C - your method still works, sort of. After you right-click to "view of dropbox.com", you are brought to the folder online. Just to the right of the actual BOLD folder name is a gear/settings icon. If you click that icon, then at the bottom of the dropdown "Activity", you will see "Request files". That then brings up the normal request files menu you used to have directly from Windows. They will probably take this away too, but for now ...

I should add that the day after I posted this solution, it was gone from the website. :(

Oh crimony sakes! Could they have hidden it more completely?? 🤪
Thanks at least for pointing it out, JW San Diego ! - manzanarez9910 months agoHelpful | Level 6
Still nothing DropBox? I haven't seen one update from the "Team"...but I've seen a lot of comments about how this reduces productivity.
When do the people get to be heard???

Even the Web UI has changed, rendering any Dropbox tutorials to create new file requests inaccurate.
Request Files, definitely not available from Mac Finder right click, or in the side bar menu on web
As previous member mentioned, you can right click, view on dropbox.com, to get to the folder, but even the menu navigation has changed recently
There is no request files in the left sidebar, and when you click the 3 dots, no request files there either.
REQUEST FILES is now hidden under the menu item "Activity"
So 2 options to request files:
1)Go to this URL:
dropbox.com/requests
OR
2) use your finder to select folder and view on dropbox.com
Next to your folder name, Select the Cog Wheel > Activity > Request Files
which takes you to the above URL linked to the folder you've selected
Yikes, why so clunky dropbox?

Right??
There is a third option... sometimes. When you select to View on Dropbox.com, there is a link called Request Files. Some days that option is there. Some days it's not. I've not managed to explain the pattern to myself. - PetrosOfSparta8 months agoExplorer | Level 4
Majorly seconded, this is a huge feature I don't know why it was ever removed. It's almost enough to make me quit Dropbox after over a decade with you.
