Can I resume large file upload?
I have a large video file that 16 GB and I copied it to dropbox folder and Dropbox desktop app showing me the file is being synced but I waited for more than 14 hours and still the same, my internet upload speed is 100 mbps according to speedtest.net
- When you hover your cursor over the icon (as described above) it will tell you the number files remaining, the speed and the estimated time remaining.

If you're using the Dropbox client on your computer and the file was placed in the local Dropbox folder, then it will resume the file automatically if the transfer is interrupted.
If it appears to be stuck, hover your mouse cursor over the Dropbox icon in the system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) and see what Dropbox reports for its status. You might also want to read the following help article.

Nothing, sometimes it just takes time to upload.
Make sure though that it is not going to sleep etc. and is continually uploading. - blmaconnor8 years agoNew member | Level 2
Did your file ever finish uploading?...I am having the same issue "1 hour left" and the status bar is stuck in one spot.It has been over 12 hours. ...otherwise says it is still uploading. Extremely frustrated by this as I purchased a larger plan, etc. so I could uploard a larger file.

Hey Rich, what icon? WHERE? I see no description above of an icon. What are you seeing? Also, you seem to be answering a question that was not asked.

I’m assuming that you’d like to resume a large file upload, since that’s the article’s title, am I right? For starters, you may keep in mind that you can resume syncing if you had previously paused through the desktop app following the steps outlined here.Alternatively, to rephrase Rich’s post above, should you experience a connectivity issue- syncing should resume once your device is back online & you can have a look at your system tray (bottom-right on a pc) or menu bar (top-right on a Mac) to check back on the syncing progress.SpoilerThe Dropbox app in your menu barThe Dropbox app in your system trayLet me know what you see there & what device you’re using & we’ll take it from there. Thanks for posting us on our Community & I'll be awaiting your next update, so as to work on a fix together!

Hovering the cursor over the Dropbox icon in the menu bar (Mac) gives no information about the status of a stuck file. Clicking the icon says Connection Is Secure and gives connection info.

Hey techperson, it looks like the file upload has been stuck on your end, please correct me if I’m wrong in my assumption. If it’s not too much trouble for you, could you elaborate a bit on the steps you’ve already tried on your end to amend this behavior, so as to make sure I’m following-up with you correctly? Are you seeing any error messages by any chance? I’d appreciate a screenshot (omitting personal info) of what the message reads, as it would point us towards the best next steps; please include it in your next message if possible. Thanks in advance for the time you’re devoting to work on that with me & I'll be awaiting your next update & we’ll take it from there!
