Can I select files for Dropbox NOT to sync?

Dropbox syncs my photos on my HP Envy and it takes up too much storage. Can I select for it to not to sync photos without deleting my photos folder?

Could you clarify what you mean by syncing photos? Is it syncing a specific folder on your machine, or is the desktop using the camera upload feature?

 

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!
