Can't access a folder that was shared with me

I have the Basic plan and can't access a folder that was shared with me. Getting a message, "Your account is out of storage!" However, when I look at usage, it shows "Using 0 GB of 2 GB space."

    That means the shared folder is bigger than your free space (i.e. it is larger than 2gb in space). 

    You either need to get more space, get the shared folder smaller OR if you only need read only access ask for a shared link instead. https://help.dropbox.com/share/create-and-share-link

    Thanks, Mark. Since the folder belongs to someone else and they're trying to share it with me, I'll ask them to give me access to a shared link.
