Does Dropbox file transfer work faster than direct upload?

1/ Does Dropbox file transfer work faster than uploading the files to the cloud (via desktop or directly on web browser)?  2/ Or is the only reason you'd use Dropbox transfer is so you don't have to...

We can't say for sure if uploading files for a transfer is faster or slower than uploading files to store in your account; is this something you've noticed on your end?

Syncing files through the desktop app is a complicated process and it can take time, of course.

Are you noticing any speed issues?
