Does shared file/folder path give access to other files/folders not included in shared folder

The path below is a shared folder from me to a group who share access to other folders. Does sharing this folder give access to any other folders beyond the shared folder? This is not a business teams account. Specific to this path line Am I giving anyone access to the Bevans Folder, here?

    Hey Michaellangley, thanks for posting again!

     

    I'm not really clear on what this specific folder path is, but in any case, when you share a folder with someone, you share with them everything inside this folder.

     

    For example, if you give them access to a parent folder with multiple subfolders, they'll be able to access all of the subfolders.

     

    If however, you give them access only to, say, some subfolders, they'll be able to access only those subfolders and what's inside them.

     

    In this case, they won't be able to access anything above the subfolders in the hierarchy.

     

    I hope this clarifies things, but let me know if you still have questions.
