Dropbox claiming file is too large
I have an article that is 6.25MB and 3.5GB total space on my account, but when I tried to update the document, I got the following error message:
This workbook has exceeded the maximum size allowed...

5 MB, not 5 GB. This is a Microsoft limitation for opening files within Excel Online, and nothing to do with Dropbox.

Could you send me a screenshot of the error that you're referring to there?
Also, if you check your current space usage in your account online here, what does it show?
