I need to restore my system due to a problem with my Windows/Fonts folder. However, whenever I try to run System Restore, after about 20 minutes Windows restarts with the following error message: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8cs9ufypm9f2ntom1jvin/temp-1.png?rlkey=ny26ffpl7ssueq13h1lh67duz&st=wzq01mjv&dl=0 (I tried posting the above url as a link but I got a message saying that the link contained invalid html! But I didn't write any html, I just used the Insert Link button. Why doesn't the Insert Link button create links that can be posted?) As the error message was referring to a Dropbox folder, and I don't need Dropbox to be restored, I need my Fonts folder to be restored, I tried uninstalling the Dropbox desktop app for Windows and running System Restore again - but I got the same error message. I then tried deleting the Dropbox folder from my hard drive, and running System Restore again - but I still got the same error message. So how can I restore my syste? I have a hunch that the problem might be somehow related to the fact that I upgraded Dropbox for Windows at the time of the last automatic restore point. But how can I get round it? It is extremely serious if the Dropbox upgrade has somehow made it impossible to run System Restore. How can I fix this? It's not got any malware on the file that I'm trying to share, and it's only started happening since I had an upgrade on my computer. My pictures on my iphone are automatically uploading to dropbox, but my videos aren't even though I have "upload videos" turned on. I've successfully uploaded smaller videos about 2 min 15 sec, but when I try to upload a 3.5 min video, it tells me "Can't upload file. There was a problem uploading [file name]. Please try again." I'm connected to wifi. Is there any other way for me to get it from my phone to dropbox on my computer?109Views0likes6CommentsI get a "Weâve interrupted your sharing activity. For details or to contact support" error.
Hi Iâm having some issues with Dropbox sharing. When I was trying to share a folder , I received this message: "Weâve interrupted your sharing activity. For details or to contact support, read our help center article." The folder is just a regular project folder Iâve shared before, and Iâve already tried refreshing, renaming it, and even creating a new one, but I still get the same error. In addition, Iâm also unable to join another shared folder that was sent to me. When I try, I get an error message saying Dropbox couldnât complete my request. Both issues started happening around the same time. Please help someone. Thanks in advance35Views0likes1CommentCan't share any folders or files
Device Lenovo IdeaPad 5i (maybe 9 months old and bug free) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Win11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) I'm using Chrome browser, but fwiw my Android phone app is v.446.2.4. I'm most interested in getting sharing via browser sorted out, but fwiw I'm likewise having no luck sharing from the phone app either Syncing Status up to date Question or Issue I have had my Basic (free plan) Dropbox account for more than ten years. Only rarely have I needed to share files or folders, but in the past I've successfully created links so specific folders could be viewed by another party without any issues. But if it matters, it's been several years since I shared that link, and only rarely along the way was that person needing to access it. That party reports that link no longer works, but even if it did work, I'd be deleting it anyway. Suffice to say, that old now nonworking public link is irrelevant. Now, I'm trying to start fresh with a new view-only link that only one party can access. If it matters, I've changed computers that sync with the Dropbox cloud a few times over the years, and each time I've successfully set up the new device to sync. And no issues at all with syncing with my current advice. I set up Dropbox on this Lenovo device several months ago and have had zero issues. Currently, I'm trying to prepare/share a Dropbox link to enable that same party to view-only the very small pdf files in a folder. From what I can tell, Dropbox security rules may have changed for shares in the past ten years. For instance, I'm pretty sure my party didn't need to have their own Dropbox account login to be able to view the contents from a link I shared back then. Regardless, today I don't want to share a wide open public link with them. My goal is to share a link that only they can open. And from what I gather, for that to happen, my other party needs to have a Dropbox login associated with the email I'll be sending the link to. No worries, I'm having them set up their login/pw so they'll be all ready to field the link that I'll send them. But now I see no way to create said link to share. From all I've read, it looks like my entire account has been blocked from sharing, for every file or folder I try results in some sort of failure. Since I'm a Basic user, I cannot even get to Dropbox Support to report this so they can investigate, so I hope someone here can help me sort this out! I'm 99% positive all the files in the folder in question aren't compromised in any way. I've got plenty of capacity in my Dropbox. Other than random daily syncs of very few small file updates, I haven't burdened Dropbox's bandwidth. I'll try to describe what happens when I attempt to set up a share (view only)... In Dropbox account Settings, under Sharing I have defaults set for 'only people invited' and 'can view'. When I hover over the folder I want to share and go to the 3 dots for More, with Manage Permissions I first click the link for viewing gear. When I click the link to create link, I get warning box with "Canât share file Error in call to API function /2/sharing/alpha/create_shared_link_with_settings: Weâve interrupted your sharing activity because your files might contain phishing content." I've verified all files are phishing-free. Plus I see this regardless of the folder I try this on. And there's just no way that every file I have is somehow tagged as a phishing file. Back to hovering and doing 3 dots... With Share, Share with Dropbox, I get a popup that says "Couldnât complete share Weâve interrupted your sharing activity. For details or to contact support, read..." Again, I've vetted my files plus I cannot reach Dropbox Support because I'm on the Basic plan. I've looked all over my laptop just to make sure I don't have something that might be causing a conflict with Dropbox, and I come up with nothing. Since it seems I get these symptoms for every folder and file I try, I'm convinced my account must be overall locked out or whatnot. Plus with all the attempts, I'm sure all those tries just keep it locked up. Can someone please give me some ideas on how to get this situation corrected? Frankly, the content I need to share is becoming a time-sensitive situation for us. Plus I want to fix this Sharing thing for future use. I'd much more be using Dropbox for more than just syncing files to cloud backup if I could at least do basic tasks like Sharing. I'm all ears and standing by to provide additional info as needed. TY!!Solved213Views0likes4CommentsI see a lot of selective sync conflicts, after the Windows desktop app randomly logged me out.
Hi, today when I turned on my computer (Windows 11) the dropbox app had logged me out without me doing anything, out of the blue. I logged back in just for the app to start syncing over 2.5TB from scratch, which was already annoying, but the worst part came when out of nowhere a lot of conflicts due to selective sync start appearing when there were none yesterday. I have worked on my folders through the years, trying to have everything well organized and I use to follow a folder structure but never under the same route since windows would already warn me anyways if that were the case, but seemingly dropbox is too dumb to follow the folder hierarchie and now there are such selective sync conflicts all over the place. Not only that, the dropbox folder under windows explorer is not showing the whole folder structure, which is still there when I enter my dropbox account in the web browser, but not in the dropbox folder under windows explorer, which is only showing the conflict folders that dropbox itself created out of nowhere. Is there any solution to this? It's not the first time I get into a similar situation where the dropbox app has logged me out after an update or similar just to force me sync all my folders and files from scratch, but at least the previous times there weren't any selective sync conflicts as there are now and I'm really considering moving all my files to an external drive and cancel my subscription then dropbox should be a help and not an app that creates errors and issues out of nowhere. Thanks for any advice, but I'm really starting to get tired of these errors that aren't even caused by the users.Solved113Views0likes3CommentsMy Dropbox account's sharing was suspended after trying to share a file I uploaded.

I'm trying to do some work with ChatGpt on an app I had built several years ago. Chatgpt suggested I uploaded the code for my app to Dropbox and shared the link so it can make some changes to my code. I uploaded the file today, but I'm unable to share and get the message saying sharing has been suspended on my account. Just to be clear the file I'm trying to share belongs to me, it's code for an app that I own and created. Please help asap. Filename 6.aab84Views0likes3Comments
