File name changed when uploading to a Dropbox Request
I was logged into my account and uploaded a file to a requested folder link. However, when I got the upload confirmation email, it added my name to into the file name. I needed to have it named in a specific way and didn’t think it would add my name to then end of the file name.
Does this happen automatically?

How can it delete part of the name that I named? I saw it when it uploaded and it was correctOnce a file has been uploaded through a file request, you can't rename it. You have no access to the file once it has been uploaded.

- Learningtech4 years agoExplorer | Level 4It was named like this:
Jane - Jane Doe - HI.mp3
Confirmation was:
Jane - HI Jane Doe.mp3
So I don’t know if the last bit was added on? But the middle part is missing? - Jay4 years ago

Hi Learningtech, could you attach a screenshot showing the naming convention for that folder?

What is a "File Request" that adds extra wording to a filename?

Hey JD444, I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your query; could you elaborate a tad?

A student of mine that she received a request from a client to upload a file to Dropbox. She said that Dropbox was by default changing the filename she uploaded by adding her name to the file. The problem is that her client had precise instructions for how files were to be named. By adding her name, she appeared to be going against her client's wishes. I suggested a workaround, where she'd set up a Dropbox account, upload the file there and invite her client to retrieve it there, thus avoiding having Dropbox mess with the filename.
