File Upload is Stuck in Endless "Finalizing" Loop
I'm the owner of this account, have created a folder for it ("free" Basic), and used the proper Dropbox channel to UL a file to it. Plenty of space available fpr the file. The person the folder is being shared with received their "folder share" notification. The endless loop is a new glitch, and nothing else about my machine has changed.
Mac M1 Air, OS 11.2.8, either Firefox 109.0.1 or Safari 14.1.2

Hi mibble, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Have you tried installing the Dropbox desktop application and tried moving the file into the Dropbox folder to sync to the account online?
This will help me to assist further!

Just a question to the Dropbox team:
This issue is on for quite a while now. And it makes Dropbox near to useless for me - except for having quite a few older file successfully uploaded and available to my community. Is there a kind of perspective when you will have solved the problem?
(My system: windows 10, Intel CPU, Google Chrome).
Thank you for answering (perhaps even to my email [removed per Community Guidelines), it´s important to know for my future buisness activities.
Sincerely
Rolf

Hi Nancy,
thank you for asking, but where do I see what Version of Dropbox I have? I haven´t found this information in any of the menus.
Cheers,
Rolf

Hi rofilmmedia, you can see this when hovering over the Dropbox icon in the system tray.
Also, in the preferences of the app, the version number would appear at the bottom.

Hi Jay,
there is no Dropbox ikon in the system tray, and there is no "preferences" menu in my Dropbox account. I simply do what I´ve been doing for the last years: I go to Dropbox on the web, sign in to my account and upload a file. That´s all I want, but some time ago this endless finalize loop problem occurred, especially with larger files.
Cheers,
Rolf

This means that you're not using the desktop app, but you're using the website to upload your files rofilmmedia
Could you try updating your browser's version, clearing its cache or using another browser and let us know if the issue persists?

all done: My Google Chrome is (and was even before) up-to date, I´ve deleted the cash. Result: endless Finalize loop. Then I´ve installed Mozilla Firefox and tried it from there. Result: endless finalize loop.
Well, this is not my hoppy, but I´ve to do my job. Therefore I´ll end with Dropbox after the paid period (until April 2024) has ended. Until then I´ll transfer all files to another platform, change all links on my website etc.
I don´t know what you changed there at Dropbox, but it was definitely no success.
Enjoy your day!

Hey rofilmmedia, I can definitely see where you're coming from, and the frustration that stems from this.
But we are here to try, and identify why this is happening. Does this happen with all of your files, and folders, or with specific file types?
Do you happen to know the size of the content you're uploading, when you use our website?

Ok then,
it´s always MP4 videos, and, yes, I can see the file size. The last one with the problem had a file size of 3.58 GB
Cheers,
Rolf
