When I open my Dropboxfolder by logging in on dropbox.com, I lack content if I compare it wit what I see if I open my desktop folder which has more content/folders and reflect what would expect to see. Is it a username issue? Does anyone have a tip of where to start searching?22Views0likes1CommentIs there a way for users to upload photos to my account directly from their devices?
Hi everyone! I need to integrate a web widget into a website so that users can upload their photos. Dropbox have such a widget or do I need to look for a third-party solution to integrate with your storage?Solved48Views0likes7CommentsNewly made embedded mp3s won't play, they are grayed out.
I have a website where I share recordings of my piano playing with family/friends. I use blogspot to link to the audio files that are in a public folder on Dropbox. I have used the same html for 12 years, but suddenly the copied links from Dropbox won't work embedded - the controls are greyed out. I've spent 2 hrs trouble shooting. The old links still work. But the new links won't. I've tried different browsers, my phone, etc. I can't figure it out. I would be so grateful if anyone could help me. my website is: [link removed as per Community Guidelines] this a link directly to the audio file: [removed as per Community Guidelines] If you try the newest entry posted today you can see the one that doesn't work. Try any other one and it will.Solved50Views0likes7CommentsThe shared link URL is different on the website vs the URL from the Windows app
In website the url contains &st=xxxxxx so we can use the link with with dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 While the windows app's sharing link doesn't include the &st=xxxxxx hence chaging dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 doesn't work.1.8KViews0likes6CommentsJob Application cannot be submitted
Hello, I'm trying to submit the applications for this Product Manager position here: https://jobs.dropbox.com/listing/6730240?gh_src=aonhf1 I think the application read my zipcode and think I belong to zone 1 but attempted to submit my application using a different zip code (Zone 2 or 3), but it still doesn’t accept the application. I saw some people ran to the same issue and got resolved when the post question here. Could you please look into it and let me know?35Views0likes3CommentsHow to disable annoying "Upload Complete" pop-up
I have multiple Dropbox accounts for several different clients, and as such, I must use the Dropbox website for uploading and downloading files I share for one of my clients. When I want to add my files to a Dropbox folder via the website, I always get a pop-up box with a confirmation that my upload has completed. This pop-up box is very annoying. It takes up a lot of space in the lower left corner of my screen, and the only way to get rid of it is to close it by clicking the "X." I upload files all day long and this confirmation pops up every single time. This requires a lot of extra clicking so that I can uncover and see pertinent information on my screen. Question - is there any way to disable this notification, or at the very least change it so that it pops up but disappears on its own after a second or two?766Views2likes4CommentsIs there an automatic date change to current date when uploading?
Why this automatic change of date to current date when upload files to Dropbox -- no other cloud type storage system does this date change? I use both Safari & Windows (depending which laptop I use at time) to do these file uploads. Its a pain in butt that it changes date so I have to upload then go in and modify to date I want. -- I've read about some synching option but not relevant. I see others have raised this issue but no real ownership by DropBox to fix it seems? Has anyone found a way to turn off this auto date change function?Solved2.1KViews2likes11CommentsI see a "Folder updates in progress, please try again later" error and I can't share any folder.
Hi Dropbox team Keep having the above message when I share a folder. I have tried to share the folder with different people or share a different folder with different people and share folders in the Incognito window, but I keep getting the same message. Please let me know what to do.45Views0likes7CommentsPersistent issue: upload speeds are incredibly slow for years
Dropbox upload speeds are incredibly slow. Issue persists for years. Dropbox mods shut down discussions I have seen complaints from many people that Dropbox upload speeds are incredibly slow. Often less than 50 kBps. I have experienced this issue intermittently for years, but over the past 3 months it has become a daily problem. Many temporary fixes have been posted, but I have yet to see any permanent solution. Common to most reports is that this issue doesn't affect other cloud services, so it's clearly a problem with Dropbox and not with people's caches, system preferences, browsers, or ISPs. I can confirm this: when my Dropbox uploads slow to a crawl, my Google Drive upload speeds are 100x faster for same file. I have found that these steps will sometimes resolve the problem but it now recurs after a day or 2: 1. Quit dropbox app 2. plug ethernet cable into laptop 3. turn off laptop wifi 4. Restart modem & router 5. Restart dropbox app This temporary fix seems to last a bit longer: logging out of dropbox, uninstalling and reinstalling dropbox, then logging back in. But this results in a very lengthy re-indexing process, so it's not something I want to be doing on a regular basis. You can see a couple of the past discussions, starting 6 years ago: https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/ridiculously-slow-upload-speeds/395342 https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/upload-app-sync-speed-is-very-slow-on-macos-/801174 Despite being marked "solved" this is an ongoing issue. The OP of the second discussion requested that mods remove the "solved" flag, but they refused and subsequently blocked new comments in the discussion: https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/upload-app-sync-speed-is-very-slow-on-macos-/801174/replies/824433 Dropbox staff person Hannah has been involved in both these discussions so mods are definitely aware that this is an issue that has persisted for years. What's going on? For many years Dropbox was a great service, but it really seems like they're neglecting their core service. Is the only solution moving to a different cloud storage service?48Views0likes5CommentsFile opened "x minutes ago" when I didn't open it?
I was looking for a file I'd accessed on my phone, but was having a struggle seeing files based on how recently I'd accessed them so I tried on the web client instead I was shocked to see various flags of files being opened within the last hour that I hadn't accessed! I checked the files and they were only shared/accessable to me, not to anyone else.. I quickly changed my password and removed a slew of older devices I'd used to access Dropbox. The next morning (now) I've opened the web client again, and more random files that aren't shared with anyone else are still showing as being accessed seemingly "on their own" Can someone shed some light on this behaviour?6.8KViews0likes30Comments
