Green and blue ticks missing on folders and files in Dropbox folder - Sonoma latest version (14.4.1)
I've only noticed now but Dropbox on Mac no longer displays green ticks for files and folders in the Dropbox folder.
It also no longer displays the blue ticks for files synced 'only-only'.

I see, thanks, shinbeth.
Can you please try the following steps to see if they help?
- Click on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and quit the application
- Open your Activity Monitor from your Mac Utilities folder
- Force quit out of the instances of the Dropbox application that are running by searching for "Dropbox" in the search bar, then clicking on the "x" force quit icon on the top left
- Re-start Dropbox from the applications folder by double clicking on the Dropbox application
- Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen
- Click on "force quit"
- Relaunch the finder
Let me know how it goes!

I keep my computer up to date with Apple, always. I donât think itâs started with 14.4.1 though, it might have been the case since Ventura 14.0.0 (October 2023). I think your engineers should check whether the Dropbox client is compatible with macOS system. That said, it works no problem. Itâs just that Dropbox doesnât display the green blue ticks in Ventura, but it did before with other macOS. So I donât really know whatâs going on.

Yes Hannah, this course of action works!
I used to only do steps 1. to 4. but didn't think of relaunching Finder.
Relaunching Finder then puts the ticks back.
Why do you think there's this bug with Ventura?
Anyway I can apply this trick any time I restart my computer from now on, until the bug is permanently fixed.
Cheers.

Hannah just fyi, now Dropbox ticks work all fine from the start of my macOS, but I still have to do your trick because if not, the green ticks keep on restarting every time I move back and forth or refresh the macOS Dropbox folder window.
So I to apply your trick again:
- Click on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and quit the application
- Open your Activity Monitor from your Mac Utilities folder
- Force quit out of the instances of the Dropbox application that are running by searching for "Dropbox" in the search bar, then clicking on the "x" force quit icon on the top left
- Re-start Dropbox from the applications folder by double clicking on the Dropbox application
- Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen
- Click on "force quit"
- Relaunch the finder
And only then, it works again fully with real sync of the green ticks in the whole of my Dropbox folder.
Anyway, that goes to show that Dropbox and macOS have difficulties to talk to each other.
