How can I copy the screenshot after uploading to Dropbox on the desktop app instead of a link?

Hello. I used to take a screenshot, it would save and I could just paste it into any chat by pressing CTRL+V. Now I can't do that, every time after I take a screenshot I have to go to the DROPBOX folder and then drag the screenshot I want into the chat. How can I get it all back?

I don't need a link when copying, I need a screenshot.👿

You can change the settings for taking a screenshot in Preferences. Set it the same way as shown below. If it's already set like this and not behaving the way you want, toggle each option on/off.

Hi XDNSV - I'm on the Product team here at Dropbox. Thanks for flagging this!

As Rich mentioned, you should be able to toggle this in your preferences -- so that Dropbox either copies a link, or leaves your clipboard as-is.

Is this setting not working as expected? If not, can you confirm which version of Dropbox you're on? (You can see this be hovering over the Dropbox icon in your taskbar.)

Let me know, and we can go from there!

    Cheers,

    Ryan
