How can I leave a shared folder to free up space?
Help I don't use dropbox and I find it complicated and confusing so apologies if this seems obvious

Yes, you can leave the shared folder and gain that space back.

Shared folders take up space in your account. If you're out of space and need to join additional shared folders, you'll need to upgrade your account.
There are other sharing methods that might work, depending on what your needs are. If you only need to upload files to someone, you could ask them for a file request. Or if you only need to view files, you could ask the owner for a shared link instead.

I could really do with removing myself from the folders in my dropbox, i tried this a while back and deleted everyones folders, the client went mad with me. Can I remove myself and get the space back without deleting everything from the shared folders, I'm guessing I had full access which I'm sure I shouldn't have?
