How can I stop people from accessing my shared link? Should I delete it?
A week ago I gave people a link so they could access files there. How do I now stop access to that link - ie delete the link, delete files accessible via that link, or stop sharing files in that link?

You can do it at https://www.dropbox.com/share/links

Thank you but the link doesn't appear there. Yet, if someone clicks on the link they can access files I no longer want them to be able to access. If it makes any difference, I put the files in that folder on dropbox.com & passed the link to others, then installed the app on my computer and rearranged folders and files. However, that original link still works and allows people to access files I no longer want them to do so.

All links from your account show on that page. Rearranging files doesn't change anything - they still work.
If it isn't showing on links have you checked the other options (Files and Recents etc.)?

Yes, that link does not appear under any options yet it works when someone clicks on it. Here's the link

Thats because its not been shared as a link 🙂
You've created a shared folder that gives everybody read/write access to the whole thing. So when they add to their Dropbox if they delete/change anything it also changes on yours. You need to go to that folder and unshare it. You may be able to do it at https://www.dropbox.com/share/folders

I copied the link to that folder on dropbox.com and shared that link. "Who can access" shows "Only you" for that folder now. Pls call [removed per Community Guidelines] if you have other suggestions.

Sorry for jumping in, spencer2. Keep in mind that this is a public forum and it’s not allowed to post any personal info here (we’re also unable to call you, I’m afraid).
When a shared link is deleted, or the content it corresponds to, it should return an error.
If the shared link in question doesn't show up here, where all active links appear, and you haven't shared the content in question explicitly with other users, is it possible you have another Dropbox account (under a different email address) from which the link was shared?

Thanks for jumping in. No, I don't have any other Dropbox accounts. When you or anyone else clicks on the link they can access the files. I no longer want the people I gave the link to or anyone else to be able to access the files yet I can't delete the link or stop access to it. It's not right to spend money on software like this then have to spend so much time correcting a "bug".

I have been around here since the software was in 1.x version and never ever seen this happen. I agree with Nancy that the link is either still active on the account but with a different name/title to what you are expecting OR its on a different one.
As you said you have a paid account have you actually contacted support for help? www.dropbox.com/support

Yes, I wrote to tech support (the only support option I have), received a reply similar to yours saying to delete under "shared links", & told them the same thing I told you. My Dropbox account is pretty simple - only about a dozen folders. That link was from a folder I created about two weeks ago. There's no other folder or account for it to be associated with. Perhaps this problem has something to do w/ the fact that I shared the link to that folder w/ others then deleted that folder and replaced it with one by the same name.
