Inconsistency between two devices in the syncing process. Where to find where the problem lies?
On my main pc a couple files are added to Dropbox daily and they show up in File Explorer on the pc.
My second pc was added to Dropbox account on 28/11/2022 and in File Explorer on that pc only files up to 27/11/2022 show plus those added by the second pc.
Main pc does not see files added by second pc.
Clearly a sync issue but I dont know how to correct his. Please help.

Hi dmkkg, how are you today?
What is the syncing status on each device?
Keep in mind that, computers sync directly with the Dropbox website. To find where the problem lies, start by checking the files in the Dropbox folder on each computer against the Dropbox website. Whichever computer has files that don’t match the Dropbox website is the one that’s not syncing.
Feel free to have a look at this Help Center article.
Keep me posted on the results.

Hello Megan
Thank you for your response.
Status on both computers say "Your files are up to date".
I have logged into the account on the Dropbox website from each machine. Neither of them show files uploaded by the other computer! Files on there are exactly as they appear in File Explorer on each machine.
This seems very odd, I would have thought the website would have all the files put on Dropbox from each machine on the account.
Any suggestions?

Sorry to jump in here, dmkkg.
Do you mean that when you login to the Dropbox website from the first PC, you see the same files that you see in that PC's Dropbox folder, and when you login to our website from the second PC, you only see the files that you see in the Dropbox folder of the second PC?
I hope this question makes sense, but basically do you see different files on the website, when you login to your account on both computers?
If that's the case, can you please make sure you're logging in to the same Dropbox account on our website on both computers?
If one of them is already logged in, make sure to check your account settings, to confirm the email address is the same for both computers.

Hello Hannah
What I am seeing now has changed a little bit. Today, Dropbox website on each pc show all the files. Dropbox folder on pc1 also shows all the files but on pc2 only files added up to 29/11/2002 show, none of those added by pc1 since then.
Both computers are logged into the same Dropbox account on your website and email address is the same for both computers.

Thanks for the update here, dmkkg!
Hmm, it might be that PC2 is the one with a syncing issue then.
Could it be that you have an older version of the app installed?
What version do you see when you hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray on PC2?
The most recent stable version of the app is currently the 162.4.5419.

PC2 has the latest version. All the files are now showing in Dropbox folder on the pc!! Hadn't done anything since my last post so no idea how this happened. But problem solved.
