Indexing lasts for ever
i have problem for a couple of days. the icon of dropbox when i rollover the mouse it says to me indexing files all the time which is not normal for the use i make with it so many years. it has stuck...

its as simple as i said it. it said "indexing 67 files" then when i exit app and relaunched started to sync my files and then changed number of indexing files to 19 for example, random numbers every time (and yes i have rebooted PC many times). no i cant do what y want cause i logged out and logged in again (from inside the desktop clinet app) and then re setup dropbox without deleting my local files. problem seems to be solved. it has stuck somehow. i ll let you know if something goes wrong again. thank you so much for responding so fast

i am beginning to determine the problem. i ve been wrong about my 2 last comments so i deleted them. as i can see there are a bunch of certain files that i upload (indexing) every 3 days and i found out what they are. what do u want me to do?
but even if the files that i upload (indexing) are exactly the same with the old ones same thing happens, indexing for ever!
so what now? ill check later on cause have to go to work if there are any suspicious files like long filenames or anything i can think of , think of yourselves as well. waiting for your reply. this has something to do with dropbox my files are perfectly normal in general
thnx!

4 years agoHi andreas781, I hope you don’t mind me jumping in, too.
If you try to move these “suspicious” files out of the local Dropbox folder, does your Dropbox app still get stuck at indexing, or does this seem to resolve the issue?
